Queens Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

We have been working hard behind the scenes to organise a Jubilee weekend for the Village but are now in desperate need of HELP!  Many thanks for those who have come forward so far.

We need people to volunteer as Marshals for the Fun Runs and the Saturday games.

We also need people to man the tea tent on the Family Fun Day and the BBQ planned for the Ceilidh - we would like to have a 1 hour rota so need quite a few people for each.

Without the help of the village, the celebrations will not be possible, so please offer your help.

Below is the agenda for the entire long weekend and we are really looking forward to a range of activities.  We would like people to register their interest or book not for the events shown so we can ensure that we have sufficient resources.  See Dunston FB page for updates.

Thursday 2nd June - Sunday 5th June 2022

Thursday 2nd June

• 10:30 Fun Run (Fancy Dress Optional)– Adults 5k or Childrens (12 yrs max)  1.5k. – Book In Now! FREE
• Best Decorated Jubilee House Competition – Book in Now! FREE
• Best Decorated Jubilee House Village Trail/Map & Judging Sheet will be available. 
  

Friday 3rd June

• 10am Dunston Village Treasure Hunt – a family treasure hunt around the village! - Book in Now! Free
• 7pm Evening Ceilidh & food – prepare for music, dancing and food in the village hall.  Max 150 people, please register your interest.  Raffle with great prizes with all proceeds to charity (tbd)

Saturday 4th June – Family Fun Day

• 1pm – Individuals & families to participate in traditional games and all round fun! Register your interest.  Tea tent with drinks and cake.  Volunteers needed!
  
• It’s a Right Royal Bake Off – Adults Cake Competition (Anything Royal) and children’s (12 yrs max) Cup Cake Competition – Book in Now! Free.  Entries to be dropped off at Lamyman Room, 1pm
  

Sunday 5th June – Picnic Party

• Decorate your bicycle competition – Book in Now! Free
• 2pm - Picnic in the Village Hall grounds.  Bring your own food & drink. Hall facilities open
• Prize giving for Best Decorated House, Bake Off & Best Decorated Bicycle.
